Tijani Babangida Appointed as Special Assistant to New Super Eagles Coach Sunday Oliseh

Ex-player Babaganida will now join the newly appointed Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh who was his teammate at Ajax Amsterdam in Holland and the national team, as his Special Assistant.


Both have maintained a good relationship over the years and will hope to reignite the friendship to the good of the Super Eagles.

The former Vitesse forward will be joining up with the Super Eagles at their training camp in Abuja which opens next week.

Babangida made his international debut in 1994 and played over 30 games for the Super Eagles.
He participated in two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and won the 1996 Olympics with Nigeria.

Babangida has experience in coaching, as he led Nigeria Premier League outfit, FC Taraba, to win promotion to the top flight for the first time ever two years ago.
